Chris Barela's life-like gamefish are limited edition cast bronze. The vibrant colors are created with heat and chemicals known as a patina.
Barela began sculpting and selling his bronzes world wide in 1994.
Being an avid fisherman, Chris started his career at the Fred Hall Fishing & Tackle Show in Long Beach, California. Pulling together a line of gamefish took a solid year of work and every last penny he had. The hard work paid off at the Fred Hall show, collectors were elated to see Chris' vibrant colors and fluidity in the inanimate sculptures. The sculptures were purchased not one but, two at a time. The excitement was contagious & Chris was able to build custom gamefish coffee tables, fountains, life size, commissions, and trophies for some of the largest & most popular fishing tournaments in the world.
